What inspires your photography?

I have always beeen interested in photography and have developed and printed my own images and negatives for about 15 years...After birthing my first child in 1992, I began to see the world in a nurturing, maternal emotional way. I was totally besotted with capturing the journey of pregnancy, works in progress, and the magnificent finale, birth, gathering images and memories for women.. in my mind I played my birthings over and over again. I wanted to capture that journey.. What a wonderful gift.

Black and white photography lends itself beautifully to the work I do, it is far more emotive, and we aren't dazzled or distracted by color.. plus it enables me to work in all light conditions as I have become proficient at using really high speed film.. I hate the invasiveness of lights and flash.. the best compliment I can have is... I didnt know you were there...
